Activity:
After the teacher reads and the students view the mammal ebook (above), the students will be split up into groups of 3-4. Each group will choose a mammal (approved by the teacher) and research it. The group will need to write down at least 6 facts about their mammal with at least two of their facts being directly related to how it is a mammal. Once each group has completed their research, the group will create their own ebook using StoryJumper. There is a collaboration option in StoryJumper, so each group member will be working at the same time. The teacher may assist each group in helping split the facts up so that each member is assigned a fact or two and then assigned to create a page for their specific fact. There should be one fact per page so there should be at least 6 pages and a cover. Each page should also include one illustration (directly from StoryJumper).
Materials:
Device for each student.
StoryJumper downloaded on each device with each student added and a log in for each student.
Access to a safe search engine such as KidRex.
A notepad and pencil for notes.
Evidence of Success:
A completed ebook with correct facts.
